Important Eligibility Criteria
Journals must meet the following minimum criteria (full details are in the Journals and Publications Policy, 2024):
- Valid ISSN and a Unique Journal Title.
- Ownership: Must be owned by a recognized university, degree-awarding institute, R&D organisation, or a registered non-profit society/NGO.
- Website: A functional website with accessible content, updated information, and defined policy documents.
- Editorial Board: Comprised of qualified academics (e.g., PhDs, or FCPS/FRCS for medical journals) with strong research backgrounds.
- Content: Minimum of five (5) original research articles published per issue in the preceding year.
- Peer-Review: At least two (2) peer-review reports for each published article.
- Important Note: Journals currently accredited by HEC must apply as fresh applicants for 2026. Journals listed in the CABELLS predatory report are not eligible.
Financial & Procedural Information
- Processing Fee (Non-refundable):
- 25,000:For Public Sector HEIs and R&D Organisations.
- 50,000:For Private Sector HEIs, R&D Organisations, Societies, or Foundations.
- Payment: Must be paid via One-Link against an invoice generated on the HEC RGMS portal.
- Application Status: The status (approved/rejected) will be available on the online portal. No separate communication will be sent.
