EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONSULTANTS
The Independent System & Market Operator of Pakistan (ISMO) is a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) established by the Government of Pakistan. ISMO holds the vision of leading the sustainable energy future of Pakistan. ISMO performs three core functions vital to Pakistan’s energy future: System Operations, Long-Term Generation and Transmission Planning, and Competitive Electricity Market Operations. As Pakistan advances toward a resilient and modern energy system, ISMO is central to sectoral reform. Its corporatized structure, people-first approach, adherence to best practices, and focus on independence and accountability signal a new era of governance in public sector entities.
In line with its mandate under the Grid Code 2023 and broader sectoral reforms, ISMO requires services of the following Individual Consultants to join its team:

| 1. | Individual Consultant (IC) for “Reliability Assessment” | Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s in Electrical Engineering will be preferred. | 1. Minimum 15 years of overall experience in Power System Planning or Operations with demonstratable expertise in Power System Reliability Studies. 2. The Consultant should have fluency in network reliability metrics and probabilistic analysis. 3. The Consultant should have hands-on experience with power system analysis tools (PSSE). | |
| 2. | Individual Consultant (IC) for “Operational Studies & Demand Analyses” | Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s in Electrical Engineering will be preferred. | 1. Minimum 10 years of overall experience in the Power System Studies including Load Flow, Short Circuit & Dynamic Analysis along with proven expertise in Demand Forecasting methodologies & analytics. 2. Familiarity with Pakistan’s regulatory framework, especially the 2023 Grid Code, and working knowledge of international planning standards. | The duration of assignment is 1 year, extendable based on performance and institutional needs. |
| 3. | Individual Consultant (IC) for “Transmission Expansion Planning” | Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s in Electrical Engineering will be preferred. | 1. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Power System Planning and Studies, including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Dynamic Analysis and Stability Studies. 2. Demonstrated experience in Transmission Expansion Planning, including formulation of planning frameworks, vetting of interconnection studies, and System Impact Assessment Studies. 3. Familiarity with Pakistan’s regulatory framework, especially the Grid Code 2023, and working knowledge of international planning standards. |
INSTRUCTIONS AND GENERAL CONDITIONS

ii. Interested candidates are advised to apply on the prescribed Application Form available at ISMO website at www.ismo.gov.pk.
iii. Incomplete applications or received after due date will not be considered.
iv. The information provided in application form will be verified by the ISMO. In case of any false or forged information, ISMO reserves the right to cancel the candidature at any stage (even after selection if so, discovered later) and to initiate legal action against the applicant.
v. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
vi. No TA/DA will be allowed to the candidates for interview.
vii. ISMO reserves the right to withhold or completely scrap the hiring process at any stage.
viii. The last date for receipt of applications is July 14, 2025.
