This advertisement is based on the decision of the Board of Governors (BoG) meeting held on 27th September, 2023. Karachi Metropolitan University is a newly established Public Sector University located in Block M, North Nazimabad, in the heart of Karachi’s Central Division. KMU is a modern, entrepreneurial and technology-driven institution with a mission to produce high-quality human capital for the social and economic development of the country.

The University, under the leadership of a top-of-the-line PhD, HEC program graduate, aims to address business and societal challenges with creativity, ethics and innovation. The University is looking for highly qualified, dynamic and competent professionals to fill the following positions on a contract basis.

Karachi Metropolitan University invites applications for the following positions:

Positions BPS Scope of Work Eligibility Criteria
Director Information Technology (BPS-20) The Director IT & Services will be responsible for the overall management of the University’s IT systems and services. The role includes leading the IT team, overseeing the infrastructure, ensuring cybersecurity, developing and implementing IT policies, and driving innovation. The Director will: <br> • Develop and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the University’s mission and goals. <br> • Manage the University’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and data centers. <br> • Ensure the security of the University’s IT systems and data. <br> • Manage the IT budget and resources. <br> • Oversee the development and implementation of new IT systems and services. <br> • Lead and mentor the IT team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and trends. <br> • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the IT department. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in managing a large IT department or organization. <br> Experience with large-scale IT projects, cybersecurity, and cloud computing is also required.
Director Quality Assurance (BPS-20) The Director Quality Assurance will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the University’s academic and non-academic programs and services. The role includes developing and implementing a quality assurance framework, overseeing accreditation processes, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Director will: <br> • Develop and implement a quality assurance framework that aligns with the University’s mission and goals. <br> • Oversee the accreditation of the University’s academic programs. <br> • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the University. <br> • Manage the quality assurance budget and resources. <br> • Lead and mentor the quality assurance team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new quality assurance standards and best practices. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in a quality assurance department or organization. <br> Experience with accreditation processes, quality assurance standards, and quality management systems is also required.
Director ORIC (BPS-20) The Director ORIC will be responsible for promoting research and innovation at the University. The role includes developing and implementing a research strategy, overseeing research projects, and managing the University’s intellectual property. The Director will: <br> • Develop and implement a research strategy that aligns with the University’s mission and goals. <br> • Oversee the management of research projects and grants. <br> • Manage the University’s intellectual property portfolio. <br> • Promote a culture of research and innovation within the University. <br> • Lead and mentor the ORIC team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new research trends and funding opportunities. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in a research and innovation department or organization. <br> Experience with research grants, intellectual property, and technology transfer is also required.
Director Planning & Development (BPS-20) The Director Planning & Development will be responsible for the University’s strategic planning and development activities. The role includes developing and implementing a strategic plan, overseeing capital projects, and managing the University’s physical infrastructure. The Director will: <br> • Develop and implement a strategic plan that aligns with the University’s mission and goals. <br> • Oversee the management of capital projects and infrastructure development. <br> • Manage the University’s physical infrastructure, including buildings and grounds. <br> • Promote a culture of strategic planning and development within the University. <br> • Lead and mentor the Planning & Development team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new planning and development trends and best practices. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in a planning and development department or organization. <br> Experience with strategic planning, capital projects, and infrastructure management is also required.
Director Works & Services (BPS-20) The Director Works & Services will be responsible for the University’s physical infrastructure, including buildings, grounds, and utilities. The role includes overseeing maintenance and repair, managing capital projects, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. The Director will: <br> • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the University’s physical infrastructure. <br> • Manage capital projects and infrastructure development. <br> • Ensure a safe and clean environment for the University community. <br> • Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the University. <br> • Lead and mentor the Works & Services team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new maintenance and repair technologies and best practices. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in a works and services department or organization. <br> Experience with maintenance and repair, capital projects, and infrastructure management is also required.
Director Admissions (BPS-20) The Director Admissions will be responsible for the University’s admissions process. The role includes developing and implementing an admissions strategy, overseeing the application process, and managing the University’s student recruitment efforts. The Director will: <br> • Develop and implement an admissions strategy that aligns with the University’s mission and goals. <br> • Oversee the management of the application process. <br> • Manage the University’s student recruitment efforts. <br> • Promote a culture of student-centered admissions within the University. <br> • Lead and mentor the Admissions team. <br> • Stay up-to-date on new admissions trends and best practices. Qualification: <br> PhD (Preferred) /Master’s degree (18 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role, in an admissions department or organization. <br> Experience with admissions processes, student recruitment, and student information systems is also required.

Qualification: <br> Master’s degree (16 years) in relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution. <br> Experience: <br> 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
